Keynote Address by Dr. Louise Cowan
The Dallas Institute will host the first event for the Cowan Center's 30th anniversary year, an evening to honor the program that began it all, what is now called the Sue Rose Summer Institute for Teachers. Dr. Louise Cowan will give the keynote address. The evening will include the dedication of the Sue Rose Summer Institute bronze plaque and recognition of the founding faculty. Alumni from Cowan Center programs—the Teachers Academy, Principals Institute, and Superintendents Symposium—and other distinguished guests will also help the Dallas Institute proclaim 2013 the "Year of the Teacher."
Saturday, February 9, 2013; 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.
Venue: Montgomery Arts Theatre at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (2501 Flora St., Dallas, TX 75201 - see map below)
Admission: $15
Additional event information:
In lieu of a book-signing on Saturday, Dr. Louise Cowan is signing copies prior to the event of the four genre books that she edited. These, along with Dr. Donald Cowan's Unbinding Prometheus and our Classics Texts will be on sale at the Montgomery Arts Theatre at Booker T before the event and also at the Dallas Institute Conference Center at the wine and cheese reception immediately following the program at Booker T.
Please join us for the reception after the program. A brief conversation in which the founding faculty and Dr. Cowan will discuss the founding of that first Summer Institute will begin at 8:45. At that time, there will be time for questions and testimonies.
