ROUTH STREET IRREGULARS: MAPPING AMERICA'S POLITICAL TRADITION

Dr. Guy Story Brown

Routh Street Following sustained interest in his Fall 2011 class "America's Political Tradition," Dr. Guy Story Brown will continue to lead the charge of the "Routh Street Irregulars" toward understanding the political character of America. The group will proceed by no preset agenda, instead following Prof. Brown's guidance and cultivating an ongoing dialogue with our political tradition. Topics promise to be diverse--from consideration of discrete, relevant issues within their historical perspectives to more extended study of seminal texts, in either their entirety or excerpts, such as Tocqueville's Democracy in America, The Federalist Papers, Aristotle's Ethics, and selected Platonic dialogues.
