First Lady Laura Bush was honorary chair of an event in October 2001 honoring The Institute’s Dr. Louise Cowan and the Teachers Academy she founded. Tributes were offered in person by Mrs. Lynne Cheney and by Mrs. Bush, via video. Pictured here is a delegation from the Institute on its way to Washington.
