THE CENTER FOR THE CITY
Pictured: Gail Thomas, Ph.D., Director
From its beginning, The Dallas Institute has focused much of its work on the study of cities, beginning with the 1982 What Makes a City? conference. The effects of that conference were so profound that it became a tradition, drawing city planners, global thinkers, and local civic leaders together in conversation about cities. They have initiated a renewed hope for cities and have brought about real changes for Dallas.
